STUDENTS! We invite students who are in grade 7 and up to come out and learn how technical theatre works, by doing it, particularly in the stage crew, props crew, lighting and sound areas.
Remember, the actors on stage are the tip of the pyramid: without the volunteers behind the scenes, the show could not go on! Experience is not necessary but a commitment to the task for its duration is required. Community Volunteer hours can be earned.
HCP is proud to have had many young people start their technical theatre training with them. Our young people have learned to run events in the Civic Theatre completely on their own! Our students have run Grey Bruce Singers concerts, dance recitals, theatre shows and professional shows that have been held in the theatre. Those who have demonstrated committment and expertise can be paid for their LIGHTING AND SOUND work with other groups.
The town has installed moving lights and a new sound system - all computer controlled. If you like communications technology, there is a place for you
A number of our technical volunteers have gone on to university or college to further their theatre education. Students have also gone on, with their acting experience, to take theatre at the college or university level.
ADULTS! can experience the same things as we REALLY need you too!.Please help us out by ushering, selling refreshments or 50/50 draw tickets and enjoy the show for free! We need more sound and lighting crew too. The job is part time and depends upon theatre rentals.
MANY OPPORTUNITIES EXIST TO VOLUNTEER and LEARN IN OUR
LOCAL AMATEUR THEATRE ORGANIZATION
